Research & Development

Research and Development is at the very heart of 113 Botanicals. It is at the core of our innovative technologies in the fields of cannabis extraction and in the development of our novel routes of administration.

Current Research Programmes

Our own specialist scientists, combined with our ongoing research collaboration with the University of Sussex, brings together a talented multi-disciplinary team dedicated to progressing research outcomes and make significant advancements in these fields. Our production facility offers further specialist R&D and workshop spaces to work in tandem with our research facilities at the University of Sussex. In addition to our core research areas, we have several additional key research programmes:
  • 113 Botanicals is developing a ground-breaking optimisation innovation for the pre- extraction ‘decarboxylation’ stage of biomass preparation
  • 113 Botanicals current post-doctoral programme, at the University of Sussex, commenced Summer 2023. The programme’s focus is in-vitro electrophysiology relating to pain with an aim to provide insightful pre-clinical data
  • An additional new PhD cannabinoid research programme, supervised by Prof. John Spencer commenced in November 2023
