The team at 113 Botanicals are delighted to join the Cannabis Industry Council as one of its founding members. The newly established Cannabis Industry Council was conceived by members of the Executive Committee of the Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society, and is chaired by Professor Mike Barnes who has been at the forefront of research into medical cannabis and is well known for his extensive involvement in campaigns to improve patient access.
The aim of the of the CIC, is to be a collective of independent providers and organisations, that can together raise the profile of medical cannabis in the UK, improve patient access and ensure the highest standards.
Here are the Council’s key aims:
- Define, set and maintain the gold standard for organisations operating in the medical cannabis sector.
- Challenge current regulations and guidelines.
- Provide a collective voice for the medical cannabis sector.
- Increase access to medical cannabis.
- Commission and carry out research.
The CIC’s remit covers many essential areas and we are excited to be part of both the Environmental & Social Responsibility Subcommittee, the Standards and the Research Committees, two areas which particularly appealed to our team.
The founding members range from patient advocacy groups, growers, medical professionals through to trade bodies, research teams and many more.
We are delighted to be part of the Cannabis Industry Council and to help shape the future of medical cannabis in the UK.
